About Ms Katherine
Ms. Katherine Tan is an accomplished Economics tutor and the founder of Lighthouse Economics. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, she earned her Bachelor’s in Economics with Honours and Distinction, supported by a prestigious scholarship.
Her journey as an educator is rooted in her personal experiences of resilience and determination. Having taken her A-Levels as a private candidate, Ms. Katherine overcame significant academic challenges to gain admission into NUS as a scholarship holder, where she excelled in her studies. This inspires her passion for helping students navigate their own academic journeys and achieve their fullest potential.
Beyond her role at Lighthouse Economics, Ms. Katherine dedicates her time to giving back to the community. She teaches a free tuition program for underprivileged secondary students on weekends and runs a non-profit support group for private candidates, fostering a culture of encouragement and support.
