About Ms Katherine
Ms. Katherine Tan is the founder of Lighthouse Economics and a highly sought-after Economics tutor known for her structured and results-driven teaching approach. A scholarship recipient, she graduated with Honours and Distinction in Economics from the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Having taken her A-Levels as a private candidate, she understands the struggles of content overload, unclear exam expectations, and studying hard but not seeing results. This personal experience fuels her passion for helping students simplify complex concepts, focus on what truly matters, and apply exam-proven answering techniques—a method that has helped her students jump 3+ grades in just months.
Beyond tuition, Ms. Katherine is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She runs a free tuition program for underprivileged secondary school students and a non-profit support group for private candidates, ensuring that every student—regardless of background—has access to quality education and support.
